Dr. Oz Recommends Sea Buckthorn for Weight Loss and Dieting

On June 2nd, 2011 Dr. Oz touted sea buckthorn for its miraculous ability to help solve weight related issues.  In the segment, called Sea Buckthorn: The Miracle Berry, he featured a study done on mice showing sea buckthorn’s ability to help you avoid weight gain and maintain a slim physique.

Two mice fed same diet, one with sea buckthorn.
The study featured two mice that were both fed the same diet.  One was supplemented with sea buckthorn oil whereas the other was not.  The results were substantial!  The mouse that consumed sea buckthorn oil in its diet maintained a lean, healthy physique whereas the other mouse, which was not consuming sea buckthorn but otherwise had the same diet, blew up to obese proportions.  Dr. Oz went on to say that the obese mouse developed illnesses similar to overweight people, such as heart disease and diabetes.
Apparently sea buckthorn can help you lose weight and avoid storing unnecessary fat!  This is why Dr. Oz, an authority on health and well being, has recommended sea buckthorn for dieting and weight loss.  The scientists in the study believe that Omega 7 (Palmitoleic Acid), the rare fatty acid abundant in sea buckthorn oil, and other naturally occurring nutrients signal the brain to not store excess fat from meals.  This is fantastic for health minded individuals who want to stay lean and maintain their physique.
Sea buckthorn, the new ‘super fruit’, has been used medicinally in Asia and most of traditional Eastern medicine for hundreds of years.  Omega 7 and other fatty acids found in sea buckthorn may be used by enzymes that affect how our body oxidizes fat stores.  This work led to a report receiving natural attention in Australia, 1995, that discussed the possibility of high Omega 7 content oils being used in combating obesity.  It received critical acclaim in Australia but sparsely made any headway in the United States.
On top of any weight loss and diet goals sea buckthorn can help you achieve, it is also excellent for everyday use as your all-in-one supplement.  It contains Omega 3, 6, 9, and the rare Omega  7.  It has very high levels of Vitamin A, E, and C, strong anti-oxidants, anti-inflammatory properties, and totals out with over 190 bioactive nutrients.  It’s a nutritional bombshell giving almost everything the body needs to operate optimally.  All these benefits and maintaining a healthy, tight physique!  Why wouldn’t you want to be taking sea buckthorn every day?
